Enter the Dragon has been described as a humorous and light-hearted kung fu film that stars Bruce Lee as he tangles with a group of organized crime bosses. Enter the Dragon is set in San Francisco and centers around Lee's character, an American martial artist named Robert Tepper who must fight against Mook, one of most powerful crime lords. The movie offers plenty of action and comedy, but it also shines with deep messages: the power of using art to transform oneself and how controlling oneself can lead to success.
The film starts with a scene set in the US, where two men are brought before Mook (Laurence Ting). The older man immediately gives Mook a diamond ring, which makes Mook feel assured that the man will cooperate. The old man then introduces his young friend under the alias of Tang Lung (Jackie Chan). Later in Hong Kong, we see Robert Tepper (Bruce Lee) practicing kung fu and getting ready for a contest. He is interrupted by Lewis (John Saxon), who asks him to check out an invitation he received in the mail. Robert immediately recognizes the name of one of his competitors: James Bond (Michael Collins). The two meet after they receive their invitations. It is revealed that they both know each other from a previous project. They agree to a match, with Mook as referee while Bruce prepares his team. In the village of Choy Loy Kung, Robert and his friends receive their secret weapons from the village chief (Wang Ka-Kui). As they train with their weapons, Bobby is about to start talking with this friendly old man, when he gets interrupted by the arrival of Mook's men. The men beat up Robert's friends and take him prisoner. Robert complains to Mook, who insists on a match between himself and Bond. He rewards Bond a large sum of money for beating him in his last fight. Bond agrees to the match, but says that he needs more time for training. Later, Bruce is out getting some rest when he is attacked by thugs sent by Mook. He defeats them all and heads back to his air conditioner repair shop, where Lewis sees him arrive with some more bruises than usual. Robert then tells his friends that they are going on a camping trip in the mountains. On their way up, they stop for lunch at an inn. While they are about to eat, three of Mook's men arrive and interrupt their lunch with their weapons. Bruce leaves with them without resistance to "set an example" for his students. In his hideout, Mook is ready to make a deal with the Korean War veteran. He tells him about a golden dragon bell at a temple in the mountains. As part of the deal, Bond has to defeat all three of Mook's men. One of his men informs him that Tepper has been defeated by James Bond. This convinces Mook that Robert is not as great as he thought, and he subsequently makes a deal with Bond: if he takes out Bobby, then Mook will give him the "golden dragon bell".
